The 2500m Hcp
started the days racing where several runners were backing up from the
Hurdle last week but ultimately it was Jumpin Jack Flash from the stable
of P Payne in Victoria who raced away in the final stages to win
strongly from Richoman who led for much of the race with Mr Lowndes
third with Shejtan fourth and Dubai Vengence 5th.
In the 2yo race Red
Magnet kicked clear but Crabbing put in a strong challenge inside the
last 200m with Our Miss Bossy starting to run home out wide.
Crabbing finally hit the front to win narrowly from Red Magnet
with the fast finishing Our Miss Bossy third. Crabbing is trained
at Morphettville by J O'Connor and ridden by Todd Pannell.
In the next Little
Akie hit the front well into the straight and raced away to win easily
from Lady Dynamo with Barigan Boy third. Little Akie is by Akadan
and took his record to 34 starts for 9 wins and 11 placings and is from
the stable of B Mueller at Strathalbyn. Race 4 went to Saturday
Affair from the fast finishing Quick Lover with Bouncing Beverley
between them in third place. Saturday Affair is by Any Given
Saturday from talented mare Little Miss Quick and has now had 10 starts
for 2 wins and 4 placings.
Poitier was too
good in the defeating Our Snippy with Minnymoo third. Poitier is
from the Victorian stable of David Hayes and was ridden by Paul Gatt
while race 6 went to Wise Journey who fought off all challengers
defeating Nullabor Nymph with Potiche third. From the stable of
Brian Mueller Wise Journey has now had two wins from 3 starts with one
second placing.
Mr Good Cat
returned to winning form in the next defeating Bermondsey with Rowdy
Rocker third as the entire field finished within 4 lengths of the
winner. Trained by R Jolly he has now won 6 racings from 36 starts
and 12 placings.
In the final race
Whitten's Delight ran on late to grab victory from Prestige Glen with No
Doubtfire third.
