The
Small ponies (under 12.2hh) was over 450m and Stacey Edwards & Napolean gave
nothing else a chance speeding along the rail to win from Maddi-Rose Cox and
Dreamtime Park Rosalie. Stacey who rode i the colours of Peachester
Lodge had been keen to race (and win) in the pony race and did a lot of work
with Napolean which has paid off with their impressive win. Second was
taken out by Maddi-Rose Cox riding Dreamtime Park Rosalie who was
representing Goolwa District Pony Club and riding in the Ranvet colours.
Maddi-Rose is the daughter of David Jolly's foreman Trace Cox and rides
racehorses working with the stable. Dreamtime Park Rosalie loves hot
chips & tomato sauce when in her job as a companion pony to racehorses on
raceday and is owned by jockey Maggie Collett pictured below giving
Maddi-Rose some last minute tips. Third place went to Tahnee Dodgson &
MIss Wood Poetry and Tahnee represented the Naracoorte Hunt Pony Club and
rode in the colours of Pinecliff Racing. Tahnee is the daughter of
trainers James & Lisa in Bordertown while MIss Wood Poetry loves jumping and
being loud so every knows she is there. Best Presented went to Harry
Downer & Drumeden Centre Stage representing Onkaparinga Pony Club and in the
colours of Hermitage Thoroughbreds. It was the first time Harry and
Drumeden Centre Stage had tried pony racing but they compete in showing and
eventing. |
