Racing returned to Morphettville with the first race a Hurdle where Stable Star led from Dumosa then Nishiazabu followed by Flying Skipper and Auld Burns.  Little changed to the post where Stable Star, Dumosa and Flying Skipper raced well clear as the fired up leaders went at a faster pace than normal. Down to the 1800m and Stable Star and Flying Skipper continued to go hard in front from Dumosa then Nishiazabu and Auld Burns with Urban Explorer well back.  By the 1200m the leaders came back to the field with Stable Star still in front as Flyign Skipper dropped back to Dumosa and Nishiazabu then Auld Burns and Blevic Lad making ground then Urban Explorer ahead of the rest.  Around the home turn Stable Star was joined by Auld Burns as Blevic Lad made his run from Nishiazabu with Urban Explorer making ground.  Over the second last Urban Explorer joined Auld Burns then Stable Star with Blevic Lad still there on the outside.  Over the last Urban Explorer cleared it well and raced away to win easily from Auld Burns with Fantauzzo running on from the back to get third from Stable Star as Blevic Lad left a leg over the last and had a harmless fall (and went on to run second on the flat just over a week later).

The 2yo race saw Lotion score a fighting win from Celebrity Tycoon with Fitocracy third.

The steeplechase was on the Parks track and Gravitas went to the early lead from Pilot's Choice then It's The Truth, Berlioz followed by Maldives and Incentive Scheme.  Past the post the first time Pilot's Choice assumed command from Gravitas then a gap to Its The Truth followed by Berlioz ahead of Maldives and Incentive Scheme.  By the 1300m Pilot's Choice led Gravitas and Incentive Scheme then Its The Truth and Berlioz with Maldives at the tail. The leading trio kicked away at the next jump as the rider on Its The Truth lost a stirrup and soon after the saddle slipped.  The pair made it over the next jump as the jockey was trying to gain some control before retiring from the event.  By the 1000m Pilot's Choice led from Incentive Scheme and Gravitas as Berlioz started to give chase.  Around the home turn Incentive Scheme took over but was soon joined by Berlioz as Gravitas started to run on again.  Over the last Berlioz outjumped Incentive Scheme to come away to win with Gravitas trying hard in third and Pilot's Choice fourth.
