Opening the days racing was the open over 1600m where River's Lane raced away from the opposition to win easily from Tasteofenergy with Final Command third.  River's Lane took his record to 53 starts for 9 wins and 9 placings.  In the 3yo hcp Goldbya made it 9 starts for 3 wins in defeating Differing Fortunes with Castano Girl third.

Petman returned from a spell with a hard fought win over Justify That with neither horse wanting to given in for most of the straight with Petman edging ahead in the last few bounds and now takes his record to 15 starts for 6 wins and 4 placings.  Assertive Eagle was third.  In the Breeders Stakes Excites Zelady returned to form in storming home to win his second race in 5 starts with Murtle Turtle second and Bring a Ring third.

  Mark Kavanagh broke the hold of the Adelaide trainers in winning the fifth race with Maussane who defeated Grand Group with Mighty Moment third.    Joe Bowditch won his third race of the day riding Ranger's Boy to win from Spartan Eagle with Tuscan Ranger third.  Ranger's Boy made it 29 starts for 7 wins and 5 placings including 2 wins in the last 5 starts since arriving from NSW. 

Lady Dynamo prevailed by a nose over Absalon with Wise and Happy third in the next while Family Portrait made it two from two after a spell in defeating General Peekay with Clinton Affair third.
